Miami-Dade Public Library System invites teens to enter photography contest
(Miami, January 5, 2009) – The Miami-Dade Public Library System invites teens, ages 12 – 19, to get behind the lens and enter its annual Black History Month Teen Photography Contest. Entries should capture some aspect of African American architecture, art or lifestyle in Miami-Dade County.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place, and include a $100 gift certificate courtesy of Pitman Photo Supply, and Best Buy gift cards valued at $60 and $40. Entries will be judged on technical quality, artistic merit and visual impact. Final date for submission is Saturday, February 7, 2009. Winning photographs will be displayed at library branches and online at www.mdpls.org.
