MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM OFFERS JOB SEARCH AND SKILL BUILDING CLASSES
(MIAMI, March 2, 2009) In an effort to assist Miami-Dade County residents during these difficult economic times, the Miami-Dade Public Library System is offering a wide assortment of vital information and valuable assistance for job seekers! From computer classes and access to the Internet, to help in resume writing, job interviewing skills and test preparation, the Library wants to be help patrons prepare for and search for jobs. Free classes are held throughout all 47 branch locations and are available in both English and Spanish.
Free computer classes include basic computer skills, how to create a resume, how to set up an email account as well as how to navigate the Internet to search for jobs. The Library’s extensive databases includes the Learning Express Library which offers practice tests, exercises, skill-building courses, and information designed to help individuals achieve the results they want.
Additionally, the Library offers individuals, who have a library card in good standing, the opportunity to visit any branch location to use a computer to access the Internet and apply for jobs. Individuals with their own laptop may also visit any branch to access the Internet through the Library’s free WiFi service.
