TEENS WANTED FOR T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST AT MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC LIBRARIES
(MIAMI, August 28, 2009) – The Miami-Dade Public Library System is inviting teens, 12 to 19, to participate in its annual T-shirt Design Contest promoting the theme “Read Beyond Reality.” Entry forms are available at all library branches and online at www.mdpls.org through September 11.
The teen with the winning design will receive a $100 gift certificate to an art supply store, an autographed football and certificate from the Miami Dolphins, and will have his design reproduced on shirts to be worn by participants during the official celebration of Teen Read Week, October 17-24. During this week, the library system will host a number of special activities just for teens.
Teen Read Week is a literacy initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association, which encourages teens to read just for the fun of it.
The T-shirt Design Contest is sponsored by the Miami Dolphins Foundation.
