BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION AT MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC LIBRARIES

(MIAMI, JANUARY 16, 2013) – The community is invited to join the Miami-Dade Public Library System as it celebrates Black History Month! Enjoy African drumming and dancing, learn about the words and world of poet Langston Hughes and hear musician Reggie Paul’s music which explores the many styles of African American song. Teens, ages 12-19, are invited to part in the 5th Annual Teen Photography contest which runs from January 22 through February 9. The contest challenges teens to get behind the lens to capture some aspect of African American culture in Miami-Dade County. Categories include: Architecture; Art and Lifestyle. Prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers.
