– Miami-Dade Public Library System to provide free lunch this summer! –
(MIAMI, MAY 31, 2013) – Beginning June 10 through August 16, the Miami-Dade Public Library System, along with Sisters for Abundant Living, will provide free lunch to children, ages 18 and under, in branch locations throughout the county. The lunches are made possible by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Summer BreakSpot program. Lunches meet the nutritional USDA guidelines and will be served on a first come, first served basis at 47 branches. Download the serving schedule and the menu. No registration is required.
“Providing free lunches to children during the summer break months is another way your public library system strives to serve our community, stated Library Director Raymond Santiago. We are proud to be able to offer this very important necessity to the youngest in our community.”
