Miami-Dade Public Library System and Comcast Communications to Offer Computer Literacy Courses to Help Close the Digital Divide!
MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM AND COMCAST COMMUNICATIONS TO OFFER COMPUTER LITERACY COURSES TO HELP CLOSE THE DIGITAL DIVIDE!
(MIAMI, JUNE 10, 2013) – The Miami-Dade Public Library System and Comcast Communications have partnered together to help bring digital literacy and the power of the Internet to households who do not currently have access to the worldwide web. Six Internet Essentials computer training classes will be held at select branches. Topics include: Job Search and Resume Writing; Internet Explorer and Computer Basics, and Microsoft Computer Software. In addition, each class will teach Internet safety tips. The classes are free and open to all ages.

As a component of Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, Comcast is providing low-cost broadband service for $9.95 a month and the option to purchase a full-service, Internet-ready computer for under $150.
