Join local artist Carolina Cueva for a four-part workshop that explores the art of self-publication and empowers you to get your message out into the world. Learn bookmaking techniques to incorporate into a zine that expresses the issues you care about most. Made possible by The Knight Foundation. Materials will be provided. Registration is required. Ages 13 - 18 yrs.
About the Artist:
Carolina Cueva was born in Lima, Peru, and lives and works in Miami, Florida. Cueva studied at the School of Visual arts and graduated with a BFA in 2007. Cueva is an interdisciplinary artist working in sculpture, performance, and 2D works of art. Her work examines identity, ancestry and displacement through personal narrative, history and the transcendental. She is one half of the performance art duo Cuentos Retablados along with artist Jahaira Rios Campos y Galvez.

The Vasari Project: Miami's Art Timeline is a series of workshops, presentations, and events featuring art and artists from the Miami-Dade Public Library System's Vasari Project, a living archive documenting the South Florida visual art community from 1945 to the present. This workshop was made possible thanks to support from the James L. Knight Foundation and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs.
