Miami-Dade Public Library Seeks Volunteers for Project L.E.A.D. (Literacy for Every Adult in Dade)
(MIAMI, FEBRUARY 12, 2013) –The Miami-Dade Public Library System is seeking volunteer tutors for Project L.E.A.D. (Literacy for Every Adult in Dade) - a free, confidential, one-on-one tutoring program to assist adults with basic reading and writing skills. Tutors should be compassionate, flexible, possess good reading skills and be willing to commit to the program for a 6 month time period. No prior experience is needed.
A workshop will be held on Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Main Library -101 West Flagler Street – in downtown Miami. Those interested are asked to bring a photo I.D. and either know or bring a social security card for required background check. Parking is available at the Cultural Center Garage, 50 NW 2 Ave. for a $5 fee.
