Sensory Friendly Programs

Families and children with special needs—and anyone who could benefit from a welcoming and inclusive environment—are invited to join us for theatrical performances, music, art, constructive play, movement and more! Parents and caregivers may share experiences with others navigating a similar path.

These programs are open to families and children of all abilities.

Sensory Friendly Storytime

This interactive and educational program is for children who face sensory integration challenges and their caregivers. Books, songs and movement are used throughout this program to stimulate all senses and encourage learning.

All ages welcome.

Sensory Friendly Family Film

Join us for a sensory friendly showing of Winnie the Pooh for the whole family. The room will be lighter, the volume will be lower, and audience members will be welcome to move around, talk, and sing.

The film is rated G. Ages 4 and up.

MDPLS Author Series with Louise Goldberg

Join author Louise Goldberg for an afternoon of fun and relaxation as she presents her book Yoga Therapy for Children with Autism and Special Needs. Ms. Goldberg has been teaching yoga and mindfulness practices to children with autism and special needs for over 35 years and leads trainings on this topic internationally.

Celebrating Creativity, Courage and Inclusion

Join us as we celebrate inclusion, courage and creativity! Enjoy a reading of the simple and inspiring children’s book, The Dot by Peter Reynolds, the 2019 All Kids Included Art Exhibition featuring pieces inspired by The Dot, and a sensory‑friendly performance of the Three Mess‑Keteers, by Fantasy Theatre Factory.
