About the Presenter
Catherine I. Beers-Conrad is an Air Force veteran who served during the Cold War. After her military service, she was involved in several community organizations until the start of the Global War On Terrorism. She then joined the American Red Cross, where she worked in Military Emergency Services.
At Wright-Patterson AFB, she was a presenter for the Red Cross first-timer and pre-deployment briefings to Airmen. She was instrumental in forming the Miami Valley Chapter #3 of the Blue Star Mothers of America. Catherine has served as the Public Affairs/Community Relations for the Miami Valley Military History Museum since 2015.
A Gold Star Daughter, Catherine has had the honor of speaking at numerous veteran events. Her father, Master Sergeant Jack Blaine Beers, was Killed In Action on April 7th, 1969, on his second voluntary tour in Vietnam; he is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross, the Bronze Star with one oak leaf cluster, and the Purple Heart. His name appears on Panel 27 West, Line 28 of the Vietnam Wall.
Catherine married Mark Conrad, MSgt, USAF, Ret. in 2017, who had numerous deployments in his 20 years of service. Mark is the museum's curator, founder, and president.
