Biography:
Silvia López was born in Cuba and emigrated to Miami as a child. Her lifelong love of books led to a career as children’s librarian and later as an author of over a dozen children’s books. She has been the recipient of two Florida Book Awards, and two of her books have been chosen as Junior Library Guild selections. Lopez has also written for the education market, including an anthology of Latin American and Caribbean folktales. Two more of her books are due for publication in 2025 and 2026. The third installment in the Easy Reader series about bilingual José and his also-bilingual dog Feliz, co-authored with Susan Rose, is due to be released next year. "Uno Más, One More: A Latino Retelling of an Old Scottish Ballad," which received a starred review in the School Library Journal is her latest book.
