One hundred years ago there were 500 lights on the streets of Coral Gables designed by architect Phineas Paist and artist Denman Fink. Karelia Martinez Carbonell, President of the Historic Preservation Association of Coral Gables, talks about these beautiful, functional works of art, many which were lost over the decades. About Miami Pioneers and Natives of Dade
The Miami Pioneers is Dade County's legacy historical organization, originally founded in 1936 by prominent settlers and business leaders who arrived in Miami in the pioneer era before the year 1900. The Natives of Dade was incorporated in 1986 by a group of local history enthusiasts born in Dade County. The groups merged on July 8, 2002.
