Let's Talk: Finding Common Ground in America at 250

An American Conversation Project Event

In honor of America's 250th anniversary, the Library is hosting a one-hour, small-group conversation where neighbors can share stories, listen with curiosity, and reflect on what matters most in our community. This is part of the American Conversation Project (ACP), a nationwide effort to bring people together for real, meaningful conversation. Light refreshments provided. Registration is required. What would you say about life in your community if someone truly had time to listen?

This small-group conversation offers a chance to step away from daily noise, meet people you might not otherwise meet, and hear perspectives shaped by different experiences - all in a space designed for listening, not debating. 

The American Conversation Project (ACP) is a nationwide initiative that brings together conversations from communities across the country to better understand how people are experiencing life in America today. These conversations help preserve everyday stories, experiences, and reflections from across the country. 

Conversations may be securely recorded and included in ACP's public collection to support research, journalism, storytelling, and civic understanding. Recordings may be searched and listened to in ways that respect participants' voices and privacy. Participants may use a pseudonym instead of their real name and may request that any of their comments be removed from the recording at any time. 

Who can participate? Anyone age 13 or older. Participants under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian.
