Biographies
Caridad Moro-Gronlier is the Poet Laureate of Miami-Dade County and the author of Tortillera (TRP, 2021), winner of the TRP Southern Poetry Breakthrough Prize; and Visionware (Finishing Line Press, 2009). She is the editor of Grabbed: Poets and Writers Respond to Sexual Assault, Empowerment and Healing (Beacon Press, 2020). Her work explores identity, queerness, family, and cultural heritage. She serves as Associate Editor of SWWIM Every Day, a daily poetry journal for women-identifying poets, and Poetry Curator-at-Large for The Betsy Writer’s Room. She lives in Miami with her wife and son.
Mia Leonin is the author of four poetry collections: Fable of the Pack-Saddle Child (BkMk Press), which won an International Latino Book Award. Anhinga Press published her books Braid, Unraveling the Bed, and Chance Born (Anhinga Press). Leonin has also published a memoir, Havana and Other Missing Fathers (University of Arizona Press). Recent work appears in the Indiana Review and the Southern Review. Leonin teaches creative writing at the University of Miami.
Silvia Curbelo is the author of two full-length poetry collections, Falling Landscape and The Secret History of Water, both available from Anhinga Press, and two chapbooks. She has received poetry fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, the Cintas Foundation and the Writer’s Voice, as well as the Jessica Nobel Maxwell Poetry Prize from American Poetry Review. Her poems have been published widely in literary journals and more than three dozen anthologies and textbooks, including Poems, Poets, Poetry (Bedford/St Martin) and the Norton Anthology of Latino Literature. A native of Cuba, Silvia lives in Tampa, Florida.
