Pinecrest Virtual Programs Room, Meeting RoomAmerican Flamingos are a cultural icon of Florida, yet their status in Florida has been controversial for nearly a century. Tony Pernas of the Florida Flamingo Working Group (FFWG) will shed light on the history of Florida Flamingos and efforts by FFWG to promote conservation and awareness. Join us in person or online via Zoom! Space is limited. Registration is required. For the online event, a Zoom link will be emailed to registrants within 24 hours of the event start time. Ages 19 yrs.+
The Miami Pioneers is Dade County’s legacy historical organization, originally founded in 1936 by prominent settlers and business leaders who arrived in Miami in the pioneer era before the year 1900. The Natives of Dade was incorporated in 1986 by a group of local history enthusiasts born in Dade County. The groups merged on July 8, 2002.
