Register for an account to apply for jobs and to save job searches.
Use the Basic Job Search to find current openings at the Library by searching for keyword “Library” or the job title. Positions at the Library will have “Libraries” listed as the department.
Use the Advanced Job Search for more search options including Job Opening ID and to save your job search. When saving job searches, select Use As Job Agent and enter your email address to receive notifications of job openings matching your search criteria.
Once your account is created, you may begin applying for jobs. Select the position you wish to apply for and click Apply Now. Fill in the required information and be sure to update your work experience and qualifications when applying.

Bachelor's degree in History, Art History, English, Library Science, Archival Science, or related field. Certificate in Archives from accredited institution or a minimum of one year archiving experience.

Volunteer at the Library

If you would like to make a difference in our community, why not volunteer at the Miami‑Dade Public Library System? It’s a great way to gain experience, build your resume and support your local library branch. Students can also earn community service hours toward their graduation requirement. Anyone over the age of 16 can sign up to volunteer. Opportunities and availability vary by location.

How to Apply:

Contact the branch you’re interested in to ask about available volunteer opportunities and schedule an appointment to meet with the Volunteer Coordinator or Branch Manager.
Submit a completed Volunteer Application/Agreement. Photo identification is required.
Once accepted, you will be contacted by email to schedule and complete Miami‑Dade County’s fingerprint‑based criminal history records/background check. You will not incur any costs associated with the background check.
After successful completion of the background check, you will be placed at your branch of interest.

Requirements:

Must be 16 years of age or older
Parent/Guardian signature for those under 18 years of age
Branch Manager approval
Please note that court ordered volunteer work cannot be completed at the library.

Volunteer Application/Agreement

Fit2Lead Park Internship Program

The Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department provides at-risk youth in high school, ages 15 to 19 years old, with paid internship positions through the Fit2Lead Park Internship Program.

Interns will work under supervision after school and through the summer in different parks and departments throughout Miami-Dade County. During the internship program, the supervisor will provide mentorship, learning, and development opportunities. Interns must be available to work from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. weekdays.

Interns will also participate in weekly enrichment classes that promote social, emotional, and mental health and foster long-term academic and behavior improvement. Enrichment classes will include Social Emotional Learning, Art, Creative Writing and Financial Literacy. Interns can also participate in learn to swim instruction and/or earn a Water Safety certificate.
