Get creative with computer programming! Join this 25-week course where you'll learn 3D modeling, game and website design, mobile app development and how to code your own art pieces! By the end of the course, you'll will have a portfolio of innovative coding projects and mastered a variety of programming languages like Scratch, JavaScript, Python, and HTML/CSS. Code/Art Club teaches 3rd-8th grade students 3D modeling, game design, mobile app development, website design and how to create art pieces with code! This 25-week course will coincide with the 2024/2025 school year. Students will learn programming skills in the first two-thirds of the school year, that they will then utilize in a capstone group coding project – where they build a website, app or game. Students will present their projects during a showcase/graduation event hosted by Code/Art for parents, students and instructors to celebrate their accomplishments.
Students must attend at least 20 weekly classes to receive a certificate of completion. Club instructors are often alumni and/or trained instructors with a Computer Science background.
