The Miami-Dade Public Library is pleased to present Chain Reaction, a 100-piece art exhibit created by the International Online Art Collective (IOAC). This unique installation showcases the creative synergy of 14 artists who inspired one another through a dynamic process of artistic exchange. Beginning with a single piece, each work informed the next, sparking a chain reaction that unfolded over two years to produce 100 interconnected pieces assembled into a powerful multimedia installation.
The collaboration emerged during the global pandemic as a way for artists to connect across distances. Each participant created a 10" x 10" piece in one week, drawing inspiration from the preceding artwork before passing it on to the next artist. This process became a testament to creativity, resilience, and the ability of art to transcend isolation, fostering connection even in times of adversity.
The exhibition reflects the healing and empowering nature of creativity, highlighting how art can unite diverse voices in a shared narrative of innovation and perseverance. The IOAC, formed in 2020, represents a global collective of artists dedicated to the belief that art inspires, provokes, and heals. From its inception during the early days of COVID-19, the collective has expanded its vision to include both virtual and in-person exhibitions.
Participating artists include Adelacreative (Spain), Barbara Pastorino (Italy), Christy de Witt (Netherlands), Gerda Smith (South Africa), Karin McCombe Jones (New Zealand), Morrison Polkinghorne (Australia), Ruth Christensen (United Kingdom), and Caroline Karp, Cheryl Barill, Greta Olivas, Guillermo Bublik, Inna Malostovker, Susan Detroy, and Wendy Bale (United States).
This remarkable exhibit invites audiences to witness the enduring power of artistic collaboration and creativity.
