This photographic exhibition presents the findings of Mirador Basin, where 964 archaeological sites have been discovered beneath the dense tropical jungle, including monumental pyramids and causeways, the first "freeways" in the world. Richard D. Hansen is an archaeologist specialized in the Mayan civilization, known for leading the Mirador Project in Guatemala for over 40 years. He earned his PhD from UCLA in 1992 and has served as a consultant for documentaries and films such as Apocalypto, directed by Mel Gibson. He is the founder of the Foundation for Anthropological Research and Environmental Studies (FARES).
