Join us for Chengyu for Change, a public workshop and launch event for a bilingual (Chinese–English) environmental zine — a magazine blending art with storytelling. This community program is timed to coincide with Art Basel Miami and centers on illustrated Chinese proverbs (Chengyu) that convey ecological wisdom across time, language and place.
A goal of this event is to build bridges between the U.S. and China to address issues like climate change and to use art to ponder the past and imagine a better future.
The event will feature:
A guided workshop and creative discussion about environmental futures
Interactive posterboard displays of original Chengyu-inspired art
Free copies of a limited-edition printed zine (while supplies last)
A broader conversation on how culture and storytelling can inform global climate action
Materials will be provided.
