Food scraps have a secret second life. From compost fertilizer to natural dyes. Learn about composting and create your own Solarpunk scarf using food scraps repurposed into dyes. Participants are invited to submit completed works for the Climate of Art exhibition on November 4th. All materials provided. Registration required. Ages 12 yrs.+
Patrons will have the opportunity to learn how to make organic soil from their own kitchen and yard waste from Master Gardener Ellen Book. Miami-Dade participants, in certain municipalities, may receive a voucher for a free compost bin (only one per household.) Bins can be picked up at the Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management in Doral, FL.
