Online Program: The Art of Vegan Baking - The Basics

During this virtual cooking class led by Miami Herald columnist and chef Ellen Kanner, learn how to make both sweet treats and savory treats using only plant-based ingredients. Space is limited for this online event. Registration is required. Zoom link will be emailed to registrants within 24 hours of the event start time. Ages 19 yrs.+
Vegan Cheese Scones
Ingredients:
- ¼ unsweetened plant-based milk – oat or soy recommended
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) vegan butter, chilled
- 1/2 cup grated or shredded vegan cheese of your choice
- pinch or two of sea salt
Aunt Minnie’s Cookies: The Vegan Edition
Ingredients:
- 1 pound vegan butter
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 8 tablespoons aquafaba**
- 4-1/2 cups flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- approximately 3/4 cup jam — seedless raspberry, apricot or your favorite flavor for
filling cookies
