Machine Threading Basics
- Step-by-step demonstration on how to properly thread a sewing machine
- Understanding the bobbin, tension, and threading path
- Guided practice so you can thread your machine confidently on your own
Hands-On Stitching Practice
- Learn how to control the sewing machine's speed
- Practice stitching on scrap fabric to get a feel for handling fabric and guiding it through the machine
- Build confidence with straight-line stitching and adjusting speed as you go

This exhibit explores the forgotten history of the countless workers who transformed the landscape of Miami Beach and whose names rarely appear in the official histories. Through photographs the convergence of geology, ecology, labor, memory, and imagination forms a new image of the iconic beachside.
