Author's biography
Eunice D. Flowers is an educator, author, and cultural storyteller dedicated to helping children see themselves, their communities, and their histories reflected in what they read. With more than 20 years in education, she has worked across early childhood, K–12, and community-based learning spaces, using storytelling as a tool to spark curiosity, pride, and connection. Her work centers on creating meaningful learning experiences that honor place, culture, and identity. She is the creator of the Maya & Xavier’s Adventures book series, which introduces young readers to heritage neighborhoods through stories that celebrate their identity, legacy, and significance. In Maya & Xavier’s Adventures in Little Haiti, she invites children and families to explore the beauty and cultural depth of one of Miami’s most treasured communities.
