Lyonel Gerdes is a passionate storyteller and has been an educator in Miami for over 35 years. He has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Florida International University. "Port-au-Prince, Haiti: Duvaliers Pax Haitiana Dynasty and my Coming of Age in the Time of Compas Direct and Mini Jazz" is a sequel to his previous trilogy book, Joie de Vivre and Decadence: Growing up in the Golden Age of Les Cayes, Haiti, where he discussed the rise and fall of the beautiful city of Les Cayes.
