Join author-illustrator and artist, Cristina Keller, for a workshop on the creation of a picture book. Learn key tips and tricks for creating an effective picture book dummy. Speaker's Bio:
Cristina Keller is an author-illustrator, artist, and printmaker. She has won an international award from IBBY for La Capa del Morrocoy and she also has four books in the list of the best books of the year by El Banco del libro and el Gato Encerrado was honored in the White Ravens list.
She taught at various institutions in Venezuela, including the Jacobo Borges Museum, leading workshops on creating handmade books for the community. She also worked for nine years with several native communities in Venezuela teaching them how to create hand-made children’s books.
In recent years, through Cuatrogatos Foundation, she has given bookmaking workshops for Spanish teachers in Miami-Dade public schools and at other institutions.
She currently teaches students of all ages at her studio, The Art Seed, where she writes and illustrates her children's picture books and graphic novels.
