Table top games have been a beloved pass time for decades. This program seeks to encourage the eagerness that fans of table top games and board games bring to the hobby. By offering a space and instructors who are familiar with a variety of table top games and their common mechanics, we aim to share that enthusiasm with like minded people, and the opportunity to be exposed to an extensive library of games.
Patrons can expect classics like “Magic the Gathering,” “Catan” and “Warhammer,” as well as more casual board games such as “UNO, " or "Taboo." The program uses the resources in the library, as well as offering a variety of games from personal collections, and is focused on input from players to decide on which games are explored.

About some of the games:
“Magic the gathering” is a collectible card game that represents players as wizards engaged in a magical battle. The series has been around since 1993 and has since inspired other classic card games such as "Yu-gi-oh," and more recently 'Lorcana," (all games that are encouraged to be played as well.) When it comes to magic, regular players can expect an additional space to enjoy their game. Those new to the game will learn how to build a magic deck considering synergy amongst the cards, and how to follow the rules of the game and learn each of its stages.
“Warhammer” is a Table top RPG, similar to the format of Dungeons and Dragons, with a mechanic that uses units to battle, and an emphasis on measurements and numbers for accuracy of abilities and movement. Unlike DnD, Warhammer games last a single session as opposed to a series that follow a longer plot-line. Warhammer is most commonly played in its "40k" iteration that focuses on space, although they do offer a medieval fantasy variation in "Age of Sigmar." A significant aspect of Warhammer is the building and painting of the figures involved in gameplay. Here we will be participating in both the customization and gameplay aspect of the game.
