This four-part sewing course is designed for those who have basic experience using a sewing machine and sewing by hand. Learn basic skills like how to cut, mark, measure, and stitch fabric pieces with accuracy. By the end of the course, participants will be able to create one simple craft item or fashion accessory with confidence. Sewing machines, materials and some sewing supplies are provided. This four-part sewing course is perfect for beginners who have some experience using a sewing machine, basic sewing supplies, tools and equipment. Participants must register for all four workshops in the series. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, students will develop essential techniques that are the foundation of successful sewing projects. Whether you are interested in making a home craft item (envelope pillow cover, quilted oven mitt, pot holder) or fashion accessory (bandana or tote bag), this class will help you build the confidence and skills needed to start creating your own items. Fabrics, patterns/templates and supplies will be provided for students to use, practice and improve their skills. If students have their own sewing supplies they are encouraged to bring them along. Otherwise, sewing machines, supplies, tools and equipment are provided on-site for the series and students will be instructed to use these items with care and confidence.
